WeChat marketing for businesses in the U.S. and Canada.
WeChat is the super app of the Chinese community. Chinese families in North America use it the way most Americans use iMessage, and much more: for groups, news, video and staying in touch with businesses. RedNexus sets up and runs WeChat for established businesses, from Official Accounts to a 24/7 concierge that turns messages into appointments.
One app for almost everything.
Tencent reported 1.418 billion combined monthly active users of Weixin and WeChat at the end of 2025 (2025 Annual Report). For many Chinese immigrants it is the one app they open every day, and it is where people expect to reach a business they trust.
Messaging and calls
The default way Chinese families in North America message and call relatives, friends and, increasingly, businesses.
Groups and Moments
Neighborhood, school-parent and interest groups where recommendations spread, and a personal feed shared with friends.
Official Accounts
Brand pages that publish articles, offer service menus and send updates to followers.
Channels
Short video inside WeChat, easy to share into chats and groups.
Mini Programs
Lightweight apps inside WeChat for bookings, menus, memberships and more.
Payments
WeChat Pay is central to daily life in China, which shapes how users expect to transact.
How WeChat works for a local business.
WeChat does little to introduce you to strangers. People reach a business on WeChat through a QR code in a store, a referral in a group chat, or a link from Xiaohongshu, Google or an ad. Once they do, WeChat is where the decision is made: questions, prices, timing, booking and reminders.
That makes speed and tone decisive. More than 60% of the inquiries our concierge handles arrive after 6 p.m. or on weekends, and inquiries that book do so in under two hours on average. A WeChat account nobody answers in the evening loses those customers.
For IQ Laser Vision, more than 2,000 leads and patients have come through our WeChat concierge. Read the case study.

Your first 90 days.
Engagements start with a three-month minimum, because the first months build the foundation that results depend on. 98% of our clients continue after those first three months.
Month 1: Foundation
Accounts set up and positioned, verifications filed, and industry whitelisting applied for in the Xiaohongshu business backend, so the account can publish and advertise in its category without being flagged. Chinese platforms enforce their rules strictly; this is the step that keeps accounts safe.
Month 2: First inquiries
Weekly content builds a searchable base, advertising starts on what performs, and the first leads and inquiries arrive and are answered in Chinese.
Month 3: Results build
With the groundwork in place, inquiries and bookings usually become steady. We report each month on reach, inquiries and appointments.
Month 4 onward: Scale
We put more behind what works, add channels and refine the inquiry process with your team.
Common questions
Is WeChat available in the United States?
Yes. A 2020 executive order targeting WeChat was blocked by federal courts and then revoked in June 2021, and the app remains widely used in the U.S. and Canada.
How is WeChat different from iMessage or WhatsApp?
Messaging is only the start. WeChat combines chat, calls, a social feed (Moments), groups, short video (Channels), articles from Official Accounts, Mini Programs and payments in one app.
Can a U.S. or Canadian company open a WeChat Official Account?
Yes. Businesses registered outside mainland China can apply for a Service Account with their own registration documents and an annual verification fee. We handle the application.
Do we need staff who speak Chinese?
No. Our concierge answers WeChat messages in Chinese around the clock, qualifies each inquiry and passes your team a booking with notes in English.
Should we use WeChat or Xiaohongshu?
Usually both. Xiaohongshu helps new customers find you; WeChat is where they ask questions, book and come back.
